Meet Lauren
Lauren is an experienced occupational therapist and a certified functional capacity evaluator. Services from Lauren are centered on client-driven goals, emphasizing listening, facilitating, and coaching people to attain their desired outcomes. Assessments and treatments are grounded in an evidence-based approach with an emphasis on measuring change and progress. As an occupational therapist, Lauren focuses on functional goals while assessing and treating the person's physical, cognitive and emotional aspects, addressing environmental barriers, and analyzing how people do the activities they need to do in their lives. Lauren has a positive, caring, open and flexible approach to working with people. Professionally, she has a particular interest in concussion care, persistent pain care and return to work/school.
Lauren's Experience
​Lauren has 20 years of experience working in a variety of roles and with different populations. From acute care surgical, neurological, and psychiatric care, to community OT roles in both Vancouver and Toronto, Lauren has developed a wide array of OT skills. In 2009, Lauren began working in private practice providing care to clients emphasizing return to function and work. This included populations with orthopedic injuries, repetitive strain injuries, head injuries, chronic pain, and mental health issues. She has provided comprehensive functional and cognitive abilities evaluations, ergonomic assessments, and job demands analyses.​​​

Lauren graduated with 1st class standing from McMaster University in 2004 with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, where she was awarded the most innovative project in her graduating class. She completed her final clinical placement in Vellore, India.

Lauren has always been interested in people and cultures from around the world. She has traveled extensively, including completing volunteer work while living for 5 months in Indonesia and teaching English as a second language while living for a year in Japan. When not working, Lauren enjoys a busy life with her husband and two children. She has a passion for downhill skiing, pickleball, and Flamenco dancing.
